Privacy Policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
This notice explains how Arion FZC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit snagcompare.com or use it to compare property snagging and handover inspection companies in the UAE (the “Services”). If you do not agree with this notice, please do not use the Services. Questions can be sent through our contact page.
1. What information do we collect?
In short: we collect what you send us directly (through our contact page, or the form a company fills in to be listed), some technical information collected automatically when you browse the site, and the public business contact details of snagging companies from their Google Maps listings.
Information you give us
If you use our contact page to message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp shares your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name (if you have set one) and the content of your message with us, so we can read and reply to your enquiry. All information you provide must be accurate — please let us know if it changes.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs certain technical information whenever you visit — your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, operating system, referring page and the pages you request. This is standard request-log data used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Services; it is not tied to your name or contact details.
Separately, we collect usage information through analytics as described in section 5.
If you list your company with us
A company asks to be listed by filling in our onboarding form. Besides the business details it chooses to publish (such as prices, service areas and contact numbers), the form collects:
- About the person filling it in: name, role, email address and mobile number, and the full name typed as a signature;
- Documents: a copy of the trade licence, and any logo, sample report or checklist uploaded;
- About the submission: the declarations ticked and their exact wording, the time, IP address, approximate location (country, region and city), network provider, time zone, browser, language, referring page and the address of the form.
We keep these to evidence that the company consented to being listed and accepted our Listing Partner Terms, and to review the listing before it is published. The person's own contact details and the uploaded documents are not published.
Business contact details from public listings
To invite snagging companies to list themselves, we hold the public business contact details shown on their Google Maps listings: business name, website, phone number, address and Google Maps link. For many companies we also hold business details from their own websites and documents or from earlier contact with them: legal name, trade licence number, WhatsApp number, enquiry email, emirates and property types covered, prices, report turnaround, re-inspection terms and equipment. We use these details to contact the company and to pre-fill its private link to the onboarding form, where it can check and correct them. We do not publish a company on SnagCompare until it has listed itself. We clear these details for a company that asks not to be contacted, or that has not listed itself within six months. A company (or a person whose details appear in its listing) can ask us to delete them at any time through our contact page.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs or health data).
2. How do we process your information?
In short: to run the directory, respond to you, and understand how the site is used.
- To operate and secure the Services. Request logs help us keep the site available and defend it against abuse.
- To respond to you. We use the details you send us through our contact page to answer your enquiry.
- To invite companies to list themselves. We use the business details described above to contact snagging companies and to pre-fill their onboarding form.
- To review and evidence a listing. We use what is sent through the onboarding form to check the company, to review the listing before publishing it, and as a record of the company's consent and acceptance of our terms.
- To improve the directory. Aggregated analytics help us understand which listings and pages are useful.
- To comply with the law. We may process information where necessary to meet a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
3. What legal bases do we rely on to process your information?
We only process personal information where we have a valid legal basis to do so.
In the UAE, we process personal information in line with the Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the PDPL): with consent where it is given (for example, through the onboarding form), where processing is necessary to take steps a company has asked for before entering into our Listing Partner Terms or to perform them, and where it is necessary to meet a legal obligation or to establish or defend a legal claim.
If you are in the EEA or UK, our bases are: our legitimate interests in keeping the Services secure, useful, and in understanding how the directory is used; performance of a request you made (answering your enquiry); and compliance with a legal obligation where applicable.
If you are in Canada, we rely on your express or implied consent, except where the law permits processing without consent — for example for fraud prevention and investigations.
5. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?
In short: we use Google Analytics to understand how the directory is used.
Google Analytics helps us understand visits, traffic sources, page engagement, company-detail views, and clicks to company websites, phone or WhatsApp links. It processes cookie identifiers and information about your browser, device and approximate location. Our custom events record a company identifier, company name and the type and location of a click — they never include your name, email address or phone number. Advertising storage, Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off in our analytics tag.
Google may process this information on infrastructure located outside the UAE. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's privacy policy. To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or use your browser's cookie and tracking-protection controls.
6. How long do we keep your information?
We keep WhatsApp messages you send us only for as long as needed to handle and, where relevant, follow up on your enquiry, and then delete them. Business details we hold about a company that has not listed itself are kept only while we invite it to list itself: we clear them once it asks not to be contacted, or after six months if it has not listed itself. Onboarding submissions, and the documents uploaded with them, are kept while the company is listed and afterwards for as long as we need them as a record of its consent and acceptance of our terms, or to establish or defend a legal claim. Technical records of onboarding attempts that failed (the kind of failure, which fields or files were involved and their sizes, browser, and country, but never your answers, file names or IP address) are deleted after 90 days. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics under our account's retention settings. Where a longer period is required by law (for example, accounting records), we retain information for that period instead.
7. How do we keep your information safe?
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we process, including relying on Cloudflare's infrastructure for transport encryption and request filtering. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Transmission of information to and from the Services is at your own risk.
8. Do we collect information from minors?
We do not knowingly collect or solicit data from, or market to, children under 18 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). By using the Services you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
9. What are your privacy rights?
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable data protection law, including the right to: request access to and a copy of your personal information; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion; and restrict or object to certain processing.
If you are in the UAE, the Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data gives you rights including access to, correction of and erasure of your personal data, and to restrict or object to its processing. This includes asking us to delete business contact details we hold from a public listing and to stop contacting your company.
To exercise any of these rights, please use our contact page. We will respond in line with applicable data protection law. You can also opt out of Google Analytics directly using your browser's cookie controls or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
If you are in the UK and are unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. If you are in the EEA, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Controls for Do-Not-Track features
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because no uniform standard for recognising and honouring DNT signals has been finalised, we do not currently respond to them. You can control analytics tracking using your browser's own cookie and tracking-protection settings, or the tools described in section 5.
11. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?
In short: if you're a resident of a US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete or opt out of certain processing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
The table below shows the categories of personal information defined under US state privacy laws and whether we have collected each in the past twelve months.

If we decline to act on a request, you may appeal by replying on the same WhatsApp conversation, and — if still unsatisfied — lodge a complaint with your state attorney general.
California residents may also request, once a year and free of charge, information about any personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes in the prior calendar year under the “Shine the Light” law (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83). We have not made such disclosures.
12. Do we make updates to this notice?

13. How can you contact us about this notice?
If you have questions or comments about this notice, please reach us through our contact page. Arion FZC operates Snagcompare from the United Arab Emirates.
14. How can you review, update, or delete the data we collect from you?
